A Personal Message from the Chairman, Mr. Kamil Ilhan:

I was born in Dalaman – a paradise of a town in the southern region of Mugla where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet. Our family have lived and died in this region for more than 300 years and I spent my childhood there as the eldest of four in an ordinary family helping out on the farm. During my school years, I started to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings I was privileged to live in, and decided that I wanted to raise my family too in this stunning location. The son of a farmer, I grew up loving nature and all its creatures, the mountains and the lakes around me.  

In the late 1960s, tourism was just starting to develop in Turkey, at a time when I had the opportunity to meet Europeans who were visiting my region and to learn of their culture first hand. While studying civil engineering at university, my vision of how I could share this paradise with both locals and foreign visitors alike began to form. By the time I embarked on my career in 1976 I had formed clear ideas about how such visitors could enjoy a home in a beautiful location with warm hearted local people – a home to pass onto their children and their children's children, an affordable home whose value would increase with time.  After working as a freelance designer for four years, I founded Curbanoglu Design and Construction Ltd specialising in property sales and consultancy in 1980. I started with just one tea-maker and now 26 years later we have 200 employees. I also started with one bicycle and we now have 30 or so vehicles in addition to 400 building plots and thousands of acres of fields in all kinds of beautiful natural settings.

We create houses in which people can spend their lives and holidays and live out their dreams for themselves and their families. Our aim is to build houses which meet the architectural tastes and budget of every family; so far we have built houses for around 1600 foreigners in every manner of architectural style and interior design as they were built according to the tastes of our customers. Local and foreign property agents, investment companies and international investors all choose to work with us because of our years of experience, the high quality of our construction and the range and number of our building plots.

Our latest project 'Secret Valley' offers the opportunity of owning your own home in a beautiful natural setting in Dalaman with facilities that include a lake for fishing and canoeing, an organic farm, horseriding and much more.   We have many happy homeowners whose dreams have been brought to fruition and who feel a true part of the local Turkish community in Dalaman. We have guided them from the construction process right through to living in their new property. And my children and I who are their locals and neighbours continue to share in their happiness as we have for many years past and will continue to do so for many years in the future.
