About Dalaman

Dalaman is a coastal area of natural beauty set against a backdrop of mountains close to many areas of historical or geographical interest. The town itself is ideally situated for such resorts as Dalyan, Gocek and Sarigerme and unlike other vibrant holiday resorts is still tranquil with unspoilt beaches, ancient ruins and parks including Caunos, Lycian rock tombs and the superb Sultaniye thermal spas and Dalyan mud baths.

The nearby Golgeli Mountains present a great opportunity for those who enjoy trekking with its lakes and high-plateau villages. There are two main beaches in the area: the protected Iztuzu Beach, the world's sixth most famous beach (well known for the loggerhead turtle Careta Careta which lay their eggs there), and the blue-flag Sarigerme Beach.

Dalaman is rapidly becoming a destination in its own right rather than just a stopover on the way to other resorts with recent investments in its international airport and roads and continuous development of the area making it more accessible than ever. The beach is officially protected because of the rare turtles that frequent its rivers and beaches, ensuring that Dalaman develops in harmony with its surrounding environment and retains its natural beauty.

It is also increasingly becoming an area of investment for Europeans purchasing property attracted by its designation as a main area of tourism with the largest marina in Turkey and a new golf course currently being built, bringing even more added value to the region.
